.

Why am I writing about this, well I suffered years of chronic heartburn and acid reflux (the 2 are the same in my eyes) and was prescribed Omeprazole (prilosec) for 2 weeks at a time. You can only take this for only 2 weeks at a time. The drug didn’t work and I suffered horrible side effects from taking omeprazole which is also known as Prilosec. You know what I mean when I say that the symptoms of chronic acid reflux are horrible. The contant nausea, excessive belching, bloating and heartburn that never goes away, and it is even worse when you lie on your side to go to sleep.

Omeprazole side effects

I used to get a lot of these, I always had pain in my upper chest and a horrible acid taste in my mouth.  After a meal, the symptoms were worse and to drink hot or cold drinks (or just swallow) I would have a burning pain in my throat due to the acid from my stomach coming up and burning my throat.  Because of the soreness in my throat I would constantly cough, especially at night, which again was due to the acid inflaming my windpipe, which also caused me to wheeze. And, if this could not get any worse it caused my gums and tongue to always be sore and I had really bad breath. Omeprazole Side Effects that I had were some of the below (and I also list all the Prilosec Side Effects for your information) :

The Omeprazole Side Effects

If there is one thing profound about the medicines that we use every single day is that they all have some harmful or not so harmful side effects. If there is something even more interesting it is that although all these drugs have harmful side effects, not all human beings will get these side effects. The same thing applies to the Omeprazole side effects. Omeprazole, known most commonly as sodium bicarbonate is normally prescribed to treat ulcers and or infection of the stomach. It normally takes about four to eight weeks to treat the ulcers and ten to twenty eight days to cure infected pylori of the stomach. The Omeprazole side effects in question are therefore side effects that arise from its long term use.

The most common Omeprazole side effects that are seen in about one of each five patients using it are diarrhea and or vomiting. There are however rare cases in which there will be more adverse or simply more quantitatively manifesting symptoms. One must bear in mind also that the form, powder, capsule, tablet or suspension, does not in anyway influence the Omeprazole side effects that one is vulnerable to.

For those rare cases that the Omeprazole side effects are much more than just diarrhea and vomiting and seem to persist, the body systems that will be affected are widely varied. One of the most rarely affected of these systems would be the cardiovascular system. Should the cardiovascular system be affected however the Omeprazole side effects would be angina and varied cardiac arrhythmia.

One of the most occurring Omeprazole side effects when it comes to the body systems is on the gastrointestinal system. Omeprazole has been seen to change the pH in the stomach by raising the amount of gastrin that is produced. This if kept up for a very long time then rarely, almost one out of ten cases of people being treated with 20-40mg daily would have to deal with its side effects. The Omeprazole side effects that would occur would be stomach polyposis. A stomach polyp is a benign growth that protrudes out over the stomach mucosa. Most of these cases of stomach polyposis will even go undetected for a very long time because when they make you feel anything you would probably regard it as a stomach upset. There are some times when these stomach polyposis caused by the Omeprazole side effects would be cancerous but this is a one in a million occurrence.

The Omeprazole side effects on the endocrine system are also not a very common occurrence. When there are side effects affecting this system they would lead to breast tenderness and enlargement. If the case is very severe then one might have gynecomastia. This however is very rare too.

If the Omeprazole side effects get to attack the hepatic system then these would be very fatal. Patients have been known to die from fatal fulminate hepatic failure due to the elevations in serum transaminases and bilirubin. As with the rest this will hardly ever occur but if it does it must be countered as soon as possible to avoid the loss of a life.

The rest of the Omeprazole side effects that are still left are the rarest and doctors can go whole careers without seeing them occurring in their patients during treatment with this drug. For example the side effects of Omeprazole on the blood system would be hemolytic anemia and thrombocytopenia. To the psychological system we would have the Omeprazole side effects ranging from depression and nervousness to hallucinations. Others may have insomnia and dream disturbance because they have anxiety.

Omeprazole Side Effects When Treating Chronic Acid Reflux

  • Get rid of Acid Reflux forever with no horrible omeprazone side effects

The simplest way to describe chronic acid reflux would be to call it a more severe case of reoccurring heartburns. There is a lot of acid and pepsin in the stomach that is used for the digestion of food. Sometimes there is even bile that moves backwards into the stomach from the duodenum. Acid reflux occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter at the top of the stomach opens and allows these liquids to come back up into the esophagus. This coming back up is what is called the reflux. When this happens, the esophageal wall is inflamed and this is where the burning sensation comes from. The recommended treatment of this is therefore Omeprazole but like with every other drug circulating the globe today the Omeprazole side effects are issues that have to be kept in mind at all times.

Chronic acid reflux hurts so much because first of all, the liquid being regurgitated contains acid. This acid stays in the esophagus longer than any of the other components in the liquid just eating away at the esophageal lining. The end result is esophagitis. The body’s natural way to prevent things from getting to this ugly stage is to find a way to neutralize the acid and this is through the bicarbonate in the organism’s saliva. Omeprazole is therefore made from sodium bicarbonate which works to neutralize the acid. The Omeprazole side effects that almost every person with chronic acid reflux should expect to get are diarrhea and vomiting on varied scales.

The problem with chronic acid reflux however is, not that it is impossible to treat; it is that you can hardly permanently treat it. It keeps reoccurring after a couple of months. Since it keeps reoccurring then one is more prone to Omeprazole side effects as a result. Omeprazole side effects have been seen to occur more often when the patient has to be on the drug for a prolonged amount of time. For instance if the patient was to use the drug for curing chronic acid reflux which will need about 40mg of Omeprazole for more than two months he is more likely to have the Omeprazole side effects than a person treating stomach inflammation for two weeks.

The Omeprazole side effects that one will encounter depend on a large number of variables because not all our organisms work in the same way. A pregnant mother who has her hormones elevated will be more prone to Omeprazole side effects than a middle aged man who has been living healthy. The numbers of variable factors are a myriad. The Omeprazole side effects that come from prolonged usage of the drug attack different systems of the body because of all these different variables. As a result, each individual can have a unique set of Omeprazole side effects.

On the body’s metabolic system, a couple of Omeprazole side effects can happen. The first and most common would be hypoglycemia and elevated uric levels. Weight gain is also one of the very common Omeprazole side effects to the metabolic system. The rarest side effect on the metabolic system would be a gout attack but this is not seen in many cases.

Omeprazole side effects on the gastrointestinal system are the most widespread because of the way the drug works. The drug works increasing the pH of the gastric juice. The gastrointestinal Omeprazole side effects would be from the common diarrhea and vomiting to constipation and flatulence.
No matter what Omeprazole side effects one will be faced with, the key importance is to make sure that if they persist, you seek professional help as soon as possible.

Omeprazole Side Effects and Heartburn

Get rid of Acid Reflux forever with no horrible omeprazole side effects

A lot of people may not realize it but all and absolutely all medicines that we consume have side effects like Omprazole, even those that are used for something that may seem as simple as a heart burn. A heart burn is a condition in which the person is left feeling like there is a fire around or behind their breast bone. This burning sometimes will be felt to be spreading into the neck and throat area and sometimes even further up to the jaws angle.

Heartburn treated by Omeprazole

The treatment for heart burns comes from medicines in the class of proton pump inhibitors and Omeprazole is one of the most commonly widespread prescriptions. The Omeprazole side effects however are not something that can just be pushed under the mat and ignored however. One must really pay great attention and look out for not only side effects of Omeprazole but of any of the medications that they may be using.

Always ask your family doctor what are going to be the side effects of the drugs that they are prescribing to you so that should they be too suspicious you can let them know as soon as they come up.

Omeprazole Side Effects – Easy to understand

The Omeprazole side effects are very easy to understand because of the mechanism of the drugs mode of treating your problem. The reason why we have heartburn, in a nutshell, is because of the liquids in our stomachs backing up into our esophagus.

To get more in detail, we will have to go into a bit of anatomy. At the opening of the stomach and at the end of the esophagus there is a sphincter that is supposed to let food and liquids into the stomach and not normally the opposite. This sphincter can however have abnormality of rhythm opening at the wrong time or it may simply just be weakened and cannot function properly to keep the contents of the stomach in where they belong. The food is thus regurgitated into the esophagus.

The Most Common Omeprazole Side Effect

The most common Omeprazole side effects that we come across are therefore going to be affecting the gastrointestinal system more than any other system in the body because this is where it will be concentrated upon. The body’s natural way of fighting a heart burn is with the bicarbonate in the saliva.

The main component in the drug Omeprazole is sodium bicarbonate which will work to neutralize the acid that is in the liquid backing up into the esophagus. The Omeprazole side effects however may be due to the fact that the medicine is working too well. The first effect of Omeprazole once in the stomach is to raise the pH of the liquid in the stomach. This basically means that there will be more gastrin being produced in the stomach.

When tested on animals, it was seen that long term administration had Omeprazole side effects showing up in just less than two weeks. The animal would have carcinoids growing on the stomach lining. Omeprazole side effects on the human stomach were however different. There would be no carcinoids growing but instead there would be polyps. It leads to a condition called stomach polyposis.

Omeprazole side effects are therefore different on us but one way or the other prolonged use of the drug could lead to having these benign masses growing in our stomach lining. The common Omeprazole side effects that almost each and every individual should expect to have should they be treating their heart burns are diarrhea and vomiting. These are not that bad when compared to the other Omeprazole side effects that are still unmentioned.

Omeprazole is a Proton Pump Inhibitor

    • Get rid of Acid Reflux forever with no horrible omeprazone side effects

A proton pump inhibitor, also known as a PPI for short is a class of drugs that dramatically reduce the amount of gastric acid that is being produced in the stomach. To get to the specifics, proton pump inhibitors block the hydrogen-potassium ATP enzyme that is found in the gastric parietal cells. The most common of all the proton pump inhibitors is Omeprazole. The Omeprazole side effects have however also been reported to be the most commonly occurring, maybe because of its extensive clinical use but maybe not.

Omeprazole side effects are all based on the mechanism of the drugs execution of treatment. All drugs in the world have side effects therefore Omeprazole side effects exist as well and should never be ignored because a couple of them can be quite dangerous and even fatal to the patient. As mentioned above, Omeprazole side effects are all on the method that it works to treat your sickness.

Proton pump inhibitors are the last line of defense against heart burns and gastro-esophageal reflux syndromes. These are caused by the liquid in the stomach making its way back up into a person’s esophagus. Due to all the acid that is in these contents the walls of the esophagus are eroded away. The proton pump inhibitors work to reduce the acidity of this content. The Omeprazole side effects arise when it begins to raise the pH of the contents in the stomach to counter this problem. Proton pumps help to produce the H anions. Omeprazole side effects arise when these anions cannot be produced anymore therefore turning one’s stomach into a ‘hypochloridic’ state. Hypochloridic, this is the medical term for when you have low acid in the stomach.

Omeprazole side effects are therefore very many in number but we have to start with where its action takes place. The gastrointestinal side effects that most doctors will advise you to expect if you are on Omeprazole are diarrhea and constipation. The Omeprazole side effects like nausea and constipation appear in more than half the patients that are treated with this proton pump inhibitor. Flatulence is another common one that you can add on to the list. There are however very many people who go without encountering any of these Omeprazole side effects but a majority have to experience this.

Another set of Omeprazole side effects that a majority of patients treated go through is the side effects on one’s psychological system. The leader of the set is depression. The thing about depression is that it never comes by itself but drags along a whole load of other symptoms. Many of the Omeprazole side effects from the depression include nervousness, hallucinations, insomnia, and anxiety and or dream disturbance. Some of these can be considered to be very trivial by the patients but any doctor will tell you any Omeprazole side effects that may arise are to be really taken note of.

For example, the Omeprazole side effects to the hepatic system are some that should not be ignored no matter how short of a time they have been around. Take this for instance, one of the Omeprazole side effects on the hepatic system is that it raises the amount of serum transaminases and bilirubin. If this goes on for even a week then the next thing that the patient will have in store is a fatal fulminate hepatic failure. This can lead to death in less than one and a half weeks so it is nothing to play around with.
If anybody should therefore realize that the Omeprazole side effects have begun to show up they should speak to their family doctor before they become full blown, seek professional help.

    Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD/GERD)

    • Get rid of Acid Reflux forever with no horrible omeprazone side effects

Gastroesophageal reflux disease is one that is more common than one would think. It will normally be felt as a burning behind the sternum region and hence many people call it the heartburn. Those who have the Gastroesophageal disease are put on a long term treatment with a proton pump inhibiting drug called Omeprazole. The Omeprazole side effects on a person with Gastroesophageal disease are becoming a more and more growing concern. The Omeprazole side effects are the most commonly had effects because Omeprazole has the widest clinical use around the world.

To simply explain the Gastroesophageal disease: there is a lot of acid content in our body’s stomachs. This content in liquid form can come back up the esophagus for a number of reasons. It is actually quite a common occurrence to have the liquid content come back up the esophagus but the problem is worse when it keeps reoccurring over and over again. The Omeprazole side effects occur due to the drugs attempt to neutralize this acid content’s action on the esophageal walls. The acid content erodes away the esophageal wall until it becomes inflamed, a term known as esophagitis. The Omeprazole side effects that will be seen occurring on the patient will therefore all be about trying to correct this acid erosion taking place in the esophagus.

The Omeprazole side effects that will be observed in a patient are totally independent of the form that the Omeprazole drug comes in. this means that the Omeprazole side effects will not depend on whether the drug is a tablet, a capsule or a solution that you drink. It depends more on the organism of the patient and the amount or concentration of the Omeprazole that is being used to treat the patient with Gastroesophageal disease.

The most common of the Omeprazole side effects will be occurring on the gastrointestinal system because this is where all the action of the drug is taking place. The Omeprazole side effects that the doctor treating a patient with Gastroesophageal disease will tell them to expect are diarrhea and vomiting. There are however other Omeprazole side effects like nausea, constipation and flatulence which are also likely to occur when you are on a long term treatment with the drug.

One of the rarest Omeprazole side effects that one can get is on the hepatic system. These Omeprazole side effects however as rare as they are can be very dangerous to the patient and should always be solved on the spot. The patient can have a fulminate hepatic failure if the drug use is not stopped or countered with another one quickly.

There can also be cardiovascular Omeprazole side effects in about three out of ten patients. They are not huge occurrences so they can sometimes go away on their own. The Omeprazole side effects on the cardiovascular system are angina and a changed heart rhythm which is the most common of the two.
The metabolic system of the body is not one that has been left exempt from the Omeprazole side effects. They are a one out of fifty chance that they will occur but none the less they do. Omeprazole side effects on the metabolic system of the body can be as meager as weight gain to as fatal as a gout attack. Hypoglycemia and weight gain are also included in the Omeprazole side effects.

The Omeprazole side effects considered to be the smallest problems are on the psychological system. One can have some depression and or anxiety. Insomnia and sleep disturbance, nervousness, and hallucinations are the rest of the Omeprazole side effects that a patient with Gastroesophageal disease can have.

There are various types of medicines that are sold in the market nowadays. Medicines are used for treating different kinds of sicknesses or ailments but sometimes things may go sour. Some of them can cause harmful effects on our body while others may not. Every individual has different reactions towards each type of medicine. It may be effective to one but not effective to the other. This is the principle also of Omeprazole side effects. Omeprazole is used to cure ulcers or infections of the stomach. The other term used for Omeprazole is Sodium Bicarbonate. It takes a couple of weeks to treat an ulcer while the cure for stomach infection will take only a couple of days. Let us discuss the Omeprazole side effects:

The most common Omeprazole side effects are diarrhea and vomiting that can be seen in one out of five patients. There are very few patients with severe reactions towards the Omeprazole side effects. This Omeprazole can be in the form of a tablet, a capsule, or a powder or suspension.

The cases of Omeprazole side effects are not merely vomiting and diarrhea. It also affects the different areas of the body system. One of the rarest areas that are affected by the Omeprazole side effects is the cardiovascular system. In instances wherein the cardiovascular system is affected the Omeprazole side effects to the person will be to suffer from angina and arrhythmia.

The most affected area of the body system by the Omeprazole side effects is the gastrointestinal system. The change of pH of the stomach is due to the Omeprazole which could raise the amount of gastrin that is being produced. If Omeprazole is to be use for a long period of time, Omeprazole side effects will be encountered. In every one out of ten patients treated with 20-40 mg daily these side effects are seen. The occurrence of the stomach polyp may be due to the Omeprazole side effects. This is a benign growth characterized by the protrusion of the stomach mucosa. It could run undetected or unnoticed sometimes confused to be ordinary stomach upsets. Few cases of Omeprazole side effects can be cancerous but this can only happen from one in a million cases.

The occurrence of Omeprazole side effects in the endocrine system is not too common. For any Omeprazole side effects in the endocrine system, the common symptoms that a certain patient may encounter are tenderness of the breast and the other is the enlargement of the breast. In worst cases of these Omeprazole side effects patient’s situation may lead to gynecomastia. Whenever the Omeprazole side effects attack the hepatic system, they are full on harmful to the patients. Patients may die due to fatal fulminate hepatic failure. This is characterized by elevation in serum transaminases and bilirubin at their onset.

There are still other Omeprazole side effects but so rare that some physicians have never yet encountered them in their whole entire career. They seldom happen to patients during the treatment with this drug. One of the rarest examples of the Omeprazole side effects are on the blood system, resulting in hemolytic anemia and thrombocytopenia. Another Omeprazole side effect is on the psychological system. These could be seen by the patient having depression and nervousness whenever they are on the Omeprazole pills or whichever other form the drug may be in. Hallucination is also not out of the question but it will not be as bad as any of the other Omeprazole side effects. There are also instances of having insomnia and dream disturbances if a patient is suffering from anxiety.

Prilosec or Omeprazole – Is Your Simple Heartburn A Gateway Disease?

    Hey Thomas here,

More and more people are realizing that “treating” symptoms of heartburn is the same as ignoring the cause of it. The best way to get your heartburn to escalate into other disease patterns is to confuse treating symptoms with curing causes. Read on . . . or follow this link to learn how!

The drug industry generates absurd amounts of money by tricking people with heartburn into ignoring its underlying cause. This type of marketing strategy ensures you become a return customer. If there was a lot of money to be made in curing your heartburn, everyone would know about this heartburn cure. Click Here To Get Yours Now.

I know it’s a little shocking to hear someone stand up against the mainstream media, but the time has come to compare apples to apples and rocks to rocks. Thousands of metric tons of dangerous drugs are being sold like poison candy to unsuspecting children by the truck loads and it seems no one dares to speak out . . . until now!

I understand that when doctors go against the grain they risk losing their licenses, but that’s only because the American Medical Association (AMA) is underwritten by Big Pharmaceutical corporations and they simple have too much power. It doesn’t mean they wouldn’t like to, they’re just afraid to. “If you ignore the underlying trigger of your heartburn by only treating your heartburn symptoms with antacids . . . odds are you’ll end up taking more powerful antacids.” This need not be.

FACT: When you simply remove the source of the fire it stops growing.  Once your heartburn fire is under control it is easy to extinguish it once and for all. Powerful antacid drugs called Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) have costly side effects which can lead to physical addiction. If you were taking antacids for your heartburn symptoms and your symptoms inflamed, why would you ever choose to take more powerful and riskier antacids? I know there are exceptions to the rule, but exceptions don’t sell metric tons of these Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) like Omeprazole (Prilosec) every year either.

Bottom line is this . . . if the cause of your heartburn is ignored while you chemically block your heartburn symptoms, then it has a greater risk of getting worse. Heartburn becomes bad heartburn, which advances to stages of acid reflux and even hiatal hernias. They all become adverse side effects of the wrong treatments.

It’s a well known fact that PPI’s like Omeprazole (Prilosec) have another potentially deadly side effect called acid rebound. Acid rebound is strictly a man made side effect of these types of acid blockers. Once you have acid rebound you’re headed straight for gastro esophageal reflux diseases (GERD), possibly surgery, Barrett’s disease and finally esophageal cancer.

Understanding that ignoring your simple heartburn symptoms can lead to throat cancer and death should help you see it really can be a gateway disease.

Why support the disease management industry? The natural cure for your heartburn, acid reflux and GERD can only happen if you use it. By simply addressing the underlying cause of what triggers your heartburn will you ever be cured of it.

Stop blocking your heartburn warning system . . . instead remove the blocks to eliminating the cause of your heartburn. Remove the blocks to your heart burn-Click Here Now!

As long as you resist your heartburn, it will remain. Discover this effective, proven and safe way to allow your “healing system” to cure heartburn naturally. Avoid side effects naturally,
